Herb Lockwood Prize in the Arts

Although he lived in Vermont for only five years, Herb Lockwood’s impact on the region’s arts and artists has proved to be enduring and profound. The breadth of art forms he practiced, and his influence on other artists in all manner of disciplines, created a legacy that remains inspirational decades later. The Herb Lockwood Prize seeks to recognize a person of comparable creativity and influence. The Prize aims to reward the pinnacle of arts leadership in a state blessed with creative energy disproportionate to its population.

The 2020 Herb Lockwood Prize presentation has been rescheduled for September 15 at 2 pm outdoors in front of the BCA Center in Burlington. In case of rain, the date will be moved to September 18 at 2 pm. Masks are highly recommended. All are welcome.
